Our most substantial healthcare project is the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham – one of the UK’s largest hospitals – where we are delivering a more-than-£5m contract encompassing more than 800 window replacements, re-roofing and insulation works across multiple levels of an occupied acute hospital.

Working on occupied NHS sites requires a level of planning, sequencing and operational sensitivity that goes beyond standard construction management: patient safety, infection control, noise management and access coordination with clinical teams all have to be integrated into how the works are designed and delivered.

Both of our divisions are active in the healthcare sector, allowing us to match the scope and scale of each project to the right team – HKL Specialists for major envelope contracts, HKL Special Projects for smaller-scale facade, roofing and fire protection packages on the wider NHS estate.
