Refurbishment and remediation

HKL Special Projects delivers facade refurbishment and remediation on existing buildings – removing defective or non-compliant cladding, render and window systems and replacing them with solutions that meet current performance and regulatory standards.

Our refurbishment capability spans rainscreen cladding and render removal and replacement, post-Grenfell cladding remediation and the associated fire protection and airtightness work that complex refurbishment scopes require.

We have a particular specialism in school facade remediation, having completed multiple projects within the six-week summer holiday window where programme certainty is absolute – the building must be ready for September, without exception, and we have never missed that deadline.

If you have a building with defective or non-compliant cladding or render, and a programme that cannot slip, HKL Special Projects has the track record to deliver it within the window you have.

Safety and quality

Refurbishment on occupied buildings demands a different approach to new-build – and our team’s experience across schools, NHS hospitals and commercial buildings means we understand the access, sequencing and communication constraints that occupied-site clients face.

We design our programmes around those constraints rather than around our own convenience – and our clients notice the difference.

Our other services

It’s rare for one of our services not to be complemented by another.
