Structual framing systems

HKL Specialists designs and installs steel frame systems as standalone packages and as the structural backbone of wider facade schemes – delivering the precision and co-ordination that complex building envelopes require.

Our SFS capability covers light gauge steel framing for external walls, infill framing for curtain wall and rainscreen applications and the coordination of the frame with the thermal, acoustic and fire performance requirements of the wider facade package.

We treat SFS as a design discipline, not just an installation task – our team produces construction drawings and co-ordinates the frame with what goes on top of it, so that tolerance, movement and performance are designed in from the outset rather than resolved on site.

This approach is particularly important on schemes where the SFS forms part of a Building Safety Act compliant external wall construction, where the relationship between frame, insulation, fire barrier and cladding must be documented and evidenced as a complete system.

Safety and quality

Our Constructionline Platinum accreditation, CWCT membership and up to £10m Professional Indemnity cover provide the assurance that clients and duty holders require – and our design-to-installation track record on complex facade schemes demonstrates that we understand what SFS needs to achieve within the wider envelope.

Whether SFS forms part of a full facade package or is procured as a standalone scope, we bring the same level of design co-ordination and on-site precision to it.
