Our Managing Director Terry Damms looks at how we replicated a historic tribute to the RAF pilots involved in the campaign for the regenerated Marble Hall development in Derby.
Construction has well-established systems for physical safety – RIDDOR reporting, method statements, risk assessments and toolbox talks, among others. Mental health has never been given the same treatment.
These are questions that get more expensive the later they are asked. Early input means the output does not just have fewer problems - it is better designed and has better procurement.
Safety culture is what happens when the pressure is on, when the programme is behind, when a short-cut is available and when nobody senior is watching.
For those procuring or delivering facade packages - particularly on residential buildings above 18 metres - the implications are already being felt and the full weight of the regime is still being absorbed across the industry.
